Who is Roamtech?
Roamtech is a licensed Premium Rate Service Provider regulated by the
Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) as a technology solutions provider.
Incorporated in the year 2012, in Kenya, Roamtech has continued to grow and
is looking at having a presence in 8 African countries by the end of the year.
Our journey
Our journey began in 2012 with the introduction of ‘Bonyeza,’ our music
content platform. This venture proved to be a significant triumph for our
company, as it earned us a nomination for Best Content User Experience at the
Africom Awards in 2013. Building on this success, we launched another
groundbreaking product in 2017— a lottery games’ offering that became the
highlight of our achievements thus far.
In 2018, we expanded our portfolio further with the introduction of Senti, a
highly popular digital credit provider in the country. Another milestone
followed in 2019 with the launch of Emalify, our VAS (Value Added Services)
platform, specializing in bulk SMS, USSDs, short codes, surveys, voice,
airtime, and data, which remains the backbone of Roamtech to this day.
The years 2020 and 2021 witnessed the unveiling of additional lottery games
and content services. In 2021, we proudly established PayKit, our payments
service provider, featuring bill reminders, recurring payments, fa user-friendly
ledger for improved financial management, and a simplified interface for paying
multiple utility bills.
Moving forward, year 2022 saw the introduction of Afrisend, our newest
venture—a licensed international money transfer company and forex bureau
approved by the Central Bank of Kenya. With authorization to facilitate money
transfers to Africa, UAE, Asia, and from various states in the US, we have
ambitious plans to expand our operations to other countries worldwide by the
end of 2023.
