In Her Own Words: The Women Making an Impact at Roamtech Solutions

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on the incredible Koki Ndeto as she shares about herself and being part of the Roamtech Solutions Limited team

  • How would you describe yourself?

Wow that is a wide question. But I guess I would describe myself as very enthusiastic and empathetic. I am outgoing, social, extroverted. I enjoy connecting with people and building relationships, and I am a reader who loves getting lost in fictional worlds.

  • What is your guilty pleasure?

I love me some Cadbury chocolate with Oreo cookies and cream, a good cup of white coffee, and a reality show of sorts. Or an apocalyptic movie lol. I also love reading books that inspired movies I enjoy. (That and Naivas hotdogs)

  • What motivates you to come to work each day?

Well, I love my job. I enjoy it. Love the culture here. That and of course, the usual, needs, wants. And the fact that my niece has me quite wrapped up around her little finger.

  • What is a hobby or passion you’re really into right now? How did you get started with it?

Reading has been a constant hobby my whole life, but for the past 1 year I have been obsessed with reading psychological thrillers. I read ‘The Silent patient’ and never turned back.

  • What items are in your bucket list?

I don’t even have a bucket list because there are so many things I haven’t done. Blame social media but I really want to go to Bali… among 1000 other things.

  • What is your favourite memory of team Roamtech?

I have had some pretty good days, but Townhall was memorable. It was my second time during a happy hour, so I was freer with people. Loved it.

  • If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?

Can I pick a celebrity? If so, then Marylin Monroe. I just feel like she was so ahead of her time as an actress. I would also like to meet Leonardo Da Vinci. Not to talk per se but watch him create something. That would be nice.

  • Who has been a major influence in your life or career, and what did you learn from them?

I have a cousin that I really look up to. When I turned to her for help and advice, she said, “I will hold your hand” and that, she did. She taught me the importance of perseverance, decision making and just holding on no matter what, even when it gets tough. Love her to death.

  • What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, and how has it shaped you?

That you cannot pour from an empty cup. You need to take care of you first, then, help take care of other people in your life. In other words, “Jijenge kwanza.”

  • Can you share a memorable experience or a favourite story from your time at this company?

Lol, walking to Sarit mid- happy hour because someone really wanted flowers, the whole walk there was so chaotic and fun, just to find the shop closed.

  •  What qualities do you appreciate most in your team-mates in Roamtech?

Love the kindness, willingness to cooperate and to help. I love the culture here, it makes my job so much easier, considering that I interact with people the entire day.
